
Demonstrates the ability to identify clients' needs and provide solutions to those needs. A demanding test, which candidates are advised not to attempt without sufficient practical experience.
Retail Distribution Review (RDR)
As well as forming part of the SII Diploma, the PCIAM exam has been approved as the Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) as a standalone level 6 qualification. PCIAM meets the step-change requirements to Ofqual QCF benchmark level 4 as proposed in the Financial Services Authority’s RDR Consultation Paper. The Certificate covers the four core areas required by the FSA which are: regulation and ethics; investment principles and risk; taxation; and planning.
PCIAM is available on 3 December 2009, additionally on 9 March 2010 and on 24 June 2010. Details of Diploma exam dates are available in the useful links box below.
