Welcome to the CBT pages. On this part of the site you will find information about the Securities & Investment Institute's computer-based testing programme.

If you are going to take a test, or just want to know more about it from the candidate's perspective, please take a few moments to read through all the information we provide here. Please use the online test simulator so you are completely familiar with the appearance of the test screens and how to use the buttons and controls on screen. Also, don't miss the centre walkthrough, so you know what to expect when you arrive at the test centre, and the FAQs page, which we hope will answer any questions you may have.

CBT offers greater flexibility for firms in exam timetabling through being able to test candidates sooner, and CBT allows for exams to be staggered among groups of candidates taking the same exam so that not everyone is absent at the same time. Instant results and flexible scheduling also mean that when a re-test is necessary, it can usually be achieved within a few days. The network of regional centres across the UK, and in major cities worldwide, makes testing much faster and easier for firms and candidates based outside London. Sll tests in London will be available at any other appointed test centre in the network, both in the UK and internationally.

CBT helps the Securities and Investment Institute to maintain the high quality of its assessment through enhanced statistical feedback on the performance of exams and through greater flexibility in exam production.
