The Securities & Investment Institute (SII) offers its Introduction Award, IAQ and Certificate examinations around the world by Computer Based Testing (CBT) which are available to candidates at Testing Venues around the world through a comprehensive agreement with Thomson Prometric, the SII's global examination delivery partner.
Please see the attached Examination Dates for dates when these examinations became available by CBT.
Please note that examination dates and times at overseas CBT exam centres are subject to availability and can be checked via the Online Booking system. If you are unable to find a convenient date, or have any problems booking online, please contact Client Services for further advice.
The SII Diploma and Advanced Certificates are currently not tested by CBT but can be sat as written examinations by arrangement with the SII. Examinations are normally written at British Council global examination service centres. For information on how to register and arrange a written examination for an Advanced Certificate or SII Diploma paper, please see the SII Diploma and Advanced Certificate booking procedures and closing dates.
Registering with the Securities & Investment Institute
If you are new to the Securities & Investment Institute - for example, you want to sit an SII examination, you first need to Register as a New Person by completing the New Person Registration form that you will find when you enter the Online Booking system. Once this form is completed you will receive a candidate number by email that confirms your registration with the SII.
This candidate number then enables you to book for an SII examination. If you want to do that, please follow the instructions below under 'How to Book an Examination'. You will also need to complete a Qualifications Registration Form (QRF) to ensure that you receive your examination results.

If you are sitting an SII examination overseas, from 1st April 2007, there is a Qualifications Registration Fee of £20 payable includes free membership at Student Level.
Overseas candidates also pay an International Examination fee which includes the fee for sitting the examination fee and a PDF (electronic) copy of a Workbook (study book) for most SII multiple-choice examinations. The Workbook will be sent to you by email as soon as you have booked your exam. Please ensure that you book your exam date enough time ahead to allow you to make use of the Workbook containing the study material you need for your exam. Details of the recommended amount of personal study time for each qualification can be found under the 'Studying for..' link on the main information page for each Qualification.
