Please note, this tool should be used as a guide only, and in no way guarantees eligibility.

Using the MSI Eligibility Calculator:

11 points or above is normally acceptable and applications will be formally ratified by the SII Membership Committee.
9-10 points is a borderline case and will be referred to the SII Membership Committee for their assessment.
8 points or less is not acceptable and a letter detailing reasons will be sent once ratified by the Membership Committee.

* Senior management role:
As defined by the FSA. The SII will review: any FSA "Significant Management" Controlled Functions held, the applicant's reporting lines to his or her firm's Board of Directors and the associated responsibilities of the role in question.

*Middle management role:
Middle Management Role will be assessed by CV and Organisational Chart.

** Claiming points for qualifications:
Points will be awarded for holding a recognised professional qualification, degree in Financial accounting, or another relevant relevant Bachelors degree. Points may not be claimed for holding more than one of these. "Relevant" refers to having direct financial services content.

*** Support of SII:
This includes speaking or chairing at SII events, attending SII Panels or Committees, contributing to our exam syllabuses or other learning materials, or other general assistance with the fulfilment of our charitable objectives.

Experience:
20 years + relevant industry experience, or	5
15 years + relevant industry experience	3

Relevant Qualification:
Relevant Professional Qualification, or	2
BSc in Financial Accounting or relevant degree	2

Actively demonstrated presently or in the past support of the SII (ie, Committee work, speaking at SII events, exam writer, etc)	1
