MSI membership is full membership of the SII, and denotes a high level of achievement and competence. It is awarded to those with a suitable combination of qualifications and experience. There are currently roughly 6,000 MSIs.
Eligibility
Full membership of the SII is normally aimed at those with post-graduate qualifications. It is available to:
* MSI status is the main route to achieving Fellowship. MSI members with 3 years of successfully logged SII CPD who hold the full SII Diploma, or the CFA qualification, may apply to become FSI members.
* Please note these are our current requirements. These are subject to change from the 1 October 2009.
Additionally, MSI members in senior roles with over fifteen years of industry experience may apply for Member (MSI) via a combination of experience, seniority and professional qualifications. Please refer to our MSI via experience page for more information.

Applying
MSI membership costs £155 annually, renewable every April. There is also a £50 joining fee. In order to apply for this category, please download and complete the Membership Application Form.
Details of the pro-rata fees are on the form itself. Please note that for applicants applying based on non-SII qualifications, a copy of the relevant pass certificate is required with the application form.
If you wish to apply for Member status based on seniority and industry experience, please download and complete the MSI Via Experience application form. Please note that the joining fee is £120 and is non-refundable in the event of an application being refused. Details of the pro-rata fees are on the form itself.
