Welcome to the External Specialists section of our website. Here, you can find out all about the way industry practitioners contribute to the development and maintenance of the SII's workbooks, exam syllabuses and exam questions. Last year, over 40,000 candidates sat SII exams in subjects ranging from the Introduction to Securities & Investment to the SII Diploma. The Institute delivers both multiple-choice and narrative-based exams, and both types are constructed and shaped by the end-users: the people who take the exams.
The SII currently has over 300 industry practitioners and specialists who contribute time, knowledge and experience to ensure that its exams remain up-to-date and relevant and undergo a series of rigorous quality checks so that candidates can be confident when studying for qualifications.
The SII is pleased to announce a series of interviews of existing External Specialists to find out a bit more about them and why it is that they volunteer their time and skills to help the Institute. The interviews are featured in the SII's membership magazine, S&I Review, and are also being posted here. The first two interviews in the series are available for you to read below.
