'The're something in the City.' This expression is still often heard. To those who do not know the City (shorthand for the institutions and firms that make up the Financial community ) the phrase conjures up images of red braces, fast cars and large pay packets. What those who work there actually do remains a mystery to many. Although some of the sterotypes certainly do exist, a closer look at the financial services industry reveals a world that is a great deal more diverse than most people imagine.
