The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is committed to widening opportunities for people to enter the financial services sector and increasing the general understanding of the role of financial services in the UK economy. With this in mind, the CISI has offered its Introduction to Investment: The Foundation Qualification to Schools and Colleges, which is opening doors to candidates from non-traditional audiences to embark on a career they might otherwise have not considered.

INTRODUCTION TO INVESTMENT: THE FOUNDATION QUALIFICATION

Introduction to Investment: The Foundation Qualification is regarded as the foundation for a range of jobs in investment business within financial institutions authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the UK regulator. The CISI has worked in close collaboration with the Investment Management Association (IMA) to develop a new syllabus for this stand-alone foundation examination which reflects the needs of investment firms.

If you are a young person who has not yet decided on a career path, or if you are looking to change careers and work in a financial services-related organisation, the Introduction to Investment qualification is a great place to start.

Candidates who complete the qualification can look to apply for jobs with financial services firms working in call centres, customer services, sales and marketing and even on graduate training schemes. Click here for more information on the Introduction to Investment.

Candidates achieving this qualification are able to go on and complete the full Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ) as this qualification is also the first unit of the IAQ.
