You should prepare in exactly the way you currently do for pen and paper exams. Securities & Investment Institute Accredited Trainers and existing workbooks remain the best method of preparation.
When you come to take your test, you will experience some differences both in procedures at the test centre and the process of taking a test on computer. We have therefore provided several resources to familiarise you with these changes and introduce you to this new testing process. Before you take your first computer-based Securities & Investment Institute exam, we suggest that you:
1. Take the CBT walkthrough of the test centre, as this explains the procedures at the test centre and provides important advice for all candidates.
2. Step through the Demo. This is an exact simulation of the CBT screens you will be using, except it contains just 5 sample questions instead of the 50 or 100 you are likely to find in a live exam. We suggest that you run through the demo several times to familiarise yourself with all the options available to you in the exam.
3. Review the FAQ document, in which we answer many of the questions that candidates ask about taking their Securities & Investment Institute exams at a Thomson Prometric computer-based testing centre.
